There have been many paw prints plied on this heart in recent years. I’ll skip the various goldfish, angelfish and betas.
Special mention has to go out to the goldfish gleaned from a birthday party grab bag, “Bert and Ernie” – although Ernie was pure white. They rode around on the portable dishwasher in our kitchen, in their stereotypical glass fishbowl complete with blue gravel and ceramic sunken ship feature. Back in the summer of 79.
